Welcome to Skilled Online Poker! -- Bill Vosti

Hey guys,

Welcome to Skilled Online Poker, a new web site dedicated to high-quality online poker ebooks.   I’ve wrote their first ebook, How to Beat No-Limit Hold ‘Em 6-max Cash Games, which is the culmination of three years of my knowledge put into 170 pages.

I’ve gained this knowledge over hundreds of thousands of hands, thousands of poker forum posts, and countless discussions with fellow poker players about the theory and concepts behind beating online poker games, specifically NLHE 6-max cash games.

Writing the book has been a great experience for me.   It really let me get back to my fundamentals and understand, in clear detail, why I was doing what I was doing. Many things had become second nature or instinctual for me, and analyzing why I was doing what I was doing helped me plug some small leaks.   More so than anything, however, I think it has let me understand my TAG competition much better and I’ve been picking better spots to bluff or to go for thin value.   I’m just seeing things much better at the table.

Enough about the book (the rest of the web site can tell you more.)   So far this year I’m doing well in limited play time, and am up about $30k overall, with $25k coming from cash games and $5k coming from tournaments.

I’ve been playing a lot more 5/10 than before, and have had some big swings.   I lost $8k over a couple days about 2 weeks ago, but came back with a $20k upswing at mostly 5/10, but spread across 2/4 and 3/6, in only 6k hands.

Here's a sick run I had at 5/10, making nearly 15 buy-ins in 1700 hands:

It’s nice to be able to dodge every single combo draw and to put a huge cooler or two on some big fish.

Life is going to hectic in the next couple weeks, with promoting the book and moving out of my apartment to get ready for Australia.   I leave for the land down under on March 1st.   I can’t wait for the experience of living abroad (even if it is a small change from my lifestyle in the US.)

I’ll be updating this blog much more than before, so check back frequently.

Good luck at the tables,

Bill Vosti
